Walking May Help COPD If you suffer from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), you may want to consider a daily walk. According to a recent study, COPD patients who walked 2-4 miles a day had fewer hospitalizations for a “flare-up” of symptoms than those who did little or no physical activity. After 5 years, the non-exercisers were two times as likely to be hospitalized as those who were most active. Researchers report that even a modest increase in activity can produce significant benefits.
