Walking down the road to collect Tuba with a friend we saw a man - TopicsExpress

Walking down the road to collect Tuba with a friend we saw a man pass by with a cow... I asked: Hey can I plough your field later? The man: Of course His name was Julius and he is a farmer out in Barangay Lapad, Laguindingan in Northern Mindanao. Ploughing a field with a cow was actually a lot easier than I originally thought. These animals are so strong and it is incredible how they listen to commands. To Stop: Hu Hu Hu To Go: Hey Hey Hey Click Click I had a tonne of fun trying this style of farming and ploughing a field. Julius was a great teacher, and well the cow was just an absolute legend! What really gets me though is I only really ploughed for 15 minutes or so before I already became quite tired in the heat! The farmers told me how they will always try and plough very earlier in the morning when it is not so hot. As well it is important that you let the animal do the work, as you guide him with the rope and the plough with your hand. I have been using the word Respect a lot on this journey and I will continue to do so! What really amazes me the most is how these guys work day in and day out, farming and caring for their land and families... yet they seem so at ease. They seem like they are simply happy and they were sharing that with me. There is something really special about farmers here in the Philippines. Their work ethic, knowledge, and attitude is truly something a lot of people can learn from. Ploughing a field with a cow.... maybe next time a water buffalo!? Apir! #BecomingFilipino
