Wallāhi, as much as I appreciate the genuine Ṣūfi scholars, I have high regards for the Salafī (not the selfie) scholars. They complete one another. Each of them have their strength and weakness. None is free from mistakes. If we look at them as teachers, and open our minds to receive their immense knowledge and wisdom, we allow ourselves to attain dynamic knowledge, and understand and appreciate Islam at broader perspective. But if we follow the desires of our teachers, and close our minds for all opinions except those of our only Shaikhs (and sects) then we prepare ourselves for a dangerous ideological extremism. The Ṣaḥābah of the Prophet, ṣallā Allāhu ʾalaihi wa sallam, had differences. In fact, they went to war against each other. If we are to side one against the other the same way we do for our scholars today, Im sure well end up hating significant number of them. Allāhu Ḥāfiẓ
