Walsall: Tendering and how we will help . . . The association is working with Walsall Council on the issue of care tendering. Already there are a number of issues not agreed. Not least: • Can you reapply if you don’t get round to it by the finish date? • What will the indicative prices be? • What are the standards that will be required? These are early days in launching this system, but we want to assure our members there will be plenty of workshops to ensure everyone is given the opportunity to understand the process and ask those awkward questions. The tendering initiative was fist delivered by the authority in 2009. Unlike the old regime learning disability and mental health providers will now be included. A meeting will be held for members to discuss issues without the council being represented. Keep an eye on our website and look out for newsletter for details. Timescale? If I were you, I should cancel any holiday for Christmas or just after. . .
