Walter Elias Disney (Chicago, Illinois, December 5, 1901 - Burbank, California, December 15, 1966) was a producer, director, writer and American entertainer. Figure animated film capital in the United States and around the world, is considered an international icon thanks to his influence and his important contributions to American entertainment industry for much of the twentieth century. He founded with his brother Roy O. Walt Disney Company Disney Productions, one that years later became the most famous producer of the animation field and currently is the largest media and entertainment world. This corporation, known today by the name of The Walt Disney Company, obtained only in 2010 a profit of 36,000 million dollars.2 In his role as entertainer and entrepreneur, Disney acquired renowned as a film producer, an innovator in the field of animation and as a designer of amusement parks. With his team created some of the most famous cartoon characters, especially Mickey Mouse, a cartoon mouse that Disney himself originally voiced. During his long and successful career in animated film was awarded 22 Oscars out of 59 nominations and received four honorary Academy Awards, which makes him the person most awards of this type has gained throughout the history.3 also won seven Emmy Awards. Walt Disney died on December 15, 1966 due to lung cancer.
