Wani inaugurated 13 Mtr. Span Foot Bridge in Gawari Laid foundation stone of 0.75 Km Birshalla to Upper Dudote link road Doda, June 10: Minister for PWD (R&B) and Mechanical Engineering Mr. Abdul Majid Wani who is on an extensive visit of erstwhile District Doda, today inaugurated and dedicated 13 Mtr. Span Foot Bridge in Gowari Neeli that was constructed by PWD (R&B) Division Gandoh at an estimated cost of 32 lacs under Bridge Projectization and laid foundation stone of 0.75 Km Birshalla Upper Dudote link road which will be constructed by PWD (R&B) Division Doda at an estimated cost of Rs. 60 lacs besides inspected various ongoing road projects in Bhallessa. The Minister was accompanied by Chief Engineer PWD (R&B) Mr. Tehsin Mustafa, DDC Doda Mr. Mubarak Singh, MD JKPCC Jammu Mr. P.R Bhagat, ADDC Doda Mr. G.N Balwan, Superintending Engineer PWD (R&B) Doda, besides other senior officers of Sectoral officers were also present on the occasion. While inaugurating the 13 Mtr Span Foot Bridge in Gowari and laying foundation stone of 0.75 km Birshalla- Didote link road, Mr. Wani said that Government has the firm motive to connect , uplift and develop rural areas at par with the urban areas. He said all the basic necessities and facilities are being made available to the rural populace on priority basis as Government is paying special attention towards cumulative development of all sectors in rural areas. He said as the Bhallessa area is the birth place of former Chief Minister and now Union Health Minister Sh. G.N Azad who has done hard work and now holding an important position in Union Government and Indian Political set up, said it is the responsibility of all of us to develop the region on all fronts. Mr. Wani inspected 4.55 Km Bhatyas Gondow PMGSY road which is being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 245.0 lacs and is scheduled to get completed by ending July 2013 and 3 Km Bhatyas- Tender PMGSY road which is being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 244.06 lacs and is scheduled to get completed by ending June 2013, it was apprised to the Minister that Stage II for premixing / surfacing has been sanctioned on the above these roads and the Tendering process is going on. While inspecting the deteriorating condition of 6 Km Bhatyas- Jakyas link road, Minister directed XEn PWD (R&B) Division Gandoh to float immediate Tenders for its upgradation and widening. The Minister also inspected construction work on 9 Km Changa- Taintli PMGSY road which is being at an estimated cost of Rs. 604.02 lacs besides also inspected 7 Km Gowari- Bharthi PMGSY road which is being constructed at a cost of Rs. 334.02 lacs. While interacting with the Executing agencies on the occasion, Mr. Wani said that Engineers needs to be more responsible and proactive to public needs and intent keeping in view the topography and geological set up of the region as well as socio-economic condition of people. He said while doing survey of any road project in the region it must be ensured that minimum of negligible forest area get involved in the alignment and must be viable and connect maximum number of villages/ habitations so that each and every habitation get road connectivity. He also directed DDC Doda, to expedite the process of land acquisition and land compensation/ structure compensation, so that works which have been delayed of abandoned due to these bottle necks will get started and completed within time . He also directed DDC Doda to monitor proper, adequate and equal supply of ration among the people in the region. Regarding the complaints being received on changing of the original alignment of some road projects in the region, The Minister said that it is an offense to change the alignment of an sanctioned project, He directed Chief Engineer PWD to conduct and inquiry so that the exemplary action against the official/ officer responsible could be taken.
