Want my advice? Dont go to Applebees on 132nd and Maple! Its like a daycare with no babysitter on site. Ken and I walk in at 7:40 (plenty available seating), had to wait for the hostess to finish chatting, then she seats us in Kid-Central! Really? We are clearly kidless and past the age of having little ones at home. Not only that but next to us is an off-work employee and her screaming kids. Behind me is the same. Beside them was a large party of kids. We waited and waited before even being acknowledged. Spinach dip took forever, and was only luke warm when we finally got it. Kens food was only luke warm. The waitress brought our check before we were even done eating!! The whole time we were there, the employees were too busy chatting with the employee-customers than doing their jobs. If there was a manager there at all, ya couldnt tell who it might be. Ken and I gave up trying to have any conversation because it wasnt worth trying to yell to be heard over the screaming kids - and of course, the parents of those kids did nothing to control their children, nor teach the any form of manners. Those of you who know us well, know that we love kids. Its not that. We always taught our children manners and when they were too young to understand, we would leave the area, calm them down and then return to the table. Needless to say, we will never return to that restaurant again.... (and yes, I sure as hell filled out their online survey and will be calling them this afternoon!)
