Want to give a shout out to my Daughter Nicki,who has ran track since the 7th grade.She even made it to state her first time running the high hurdles.When she got in High School,the coaches decided she needed to take up weight lifting and done so the last 3 years.Adding 30 pounds of muscle on a 5 foot frame takes time for the body to adjust.No -one at FCHS has any knowledge of the hurdles so she basically has been on her own.The only time I ever seen the coach and assistant coach around her was when I got the chance to watch her practice.Coach Wilburn said he didnt know anything about hurdles and would get her help,but that didnt come.Last Friday while watching Nicki work on hurdles the asst.coach was at my side the whole time and I was told she would be running only the 100 at DuQuoin yesterday.She did run the 100,placed 2nd.then ran the 4 by 100,then 4 by 200 and then ending it with the 300 high hurdles.Nicki is not gonna compete at the college level,but enjoyed her time and team mates.Today at the herrin meet she was told she would be running the 300 again as well as the 100.Well she gracefully told the coach Wilburn she was quitting because she had too much going on.She has a job after school as well.He told her that was an excuse.I went to school today to get the absents that was reported by Mr.Wilburn off her record.3 in all and got a letter from the school stating that.Mr.Rains took care of that error for Nicki.I wish all the Girls Track Team the very best and hope your coaches learn that all of you matter.Best of luck finding a hurdler to finish the season.Good luck Nicki on your endeavors.We,here at home Love You and stand behind your decision.Regards Leonard..PS Congratulations to Hunter Johnson for breaking my Nephew Clint Williss High Jumping record he has held for many years.I remember you playing soccer when you was 5.Clint only did track his Senior year and didnt even know he could jump.He went to the nationals and cleared 7feet one inch.Now he just a mean ol Frankfort Policeman!!/LOL
