Want to know the current situation here in NM...this is just the past 48 hours! 45 puppies and countless mother dogs dumped! 6 puppies left is 30 degree temperature, 3 came in so dehydrated and cold they did not make it. Mother dog in the mesa with 13 puppies combined, of those two babies froze to death last night. The shelters are overflowing with unaltered strays and countless owner surrenders. In Valencia County, a small county shelter, there are puppies by the dozens and small breed mom about to give birth. There are emaciated and scared and seniors, blind and deaf and sick animals dumped over and over again!! The rescues are scrambling to save as many lives as they can! The networkers are reaching out to surrounding state rescues for help. Pleas going out for long and short term fosters! Transports being arranged with drivers caring 100s of dogs a month through treacherous roads to save as many lives as is possible! John & I, TeeCeeBoos Wysh, is driving out 2 puppies to Colorado on Saturday! One from a shelter the other given away free on a FB garage sale site and so small she has to be fed by syringe. My supportive mom donated the vetting for one of these puppies so the rescues involved could use money for more urgent needs. We are road tripping and putting kennels in our vehicle so more room can stay open for the transport vans that are going out as well! The needs are urgent and lives are lost! The ones that make it need all the help they can get. If you can foster please let me know and I can get you in contact with the rescues. Foster commitment needs are short and long term. Some for less than 24 hours! Everyone can do something. I know the holidays are here and everyone is busy, but opening your home for a short period is such a rewarding experience. If you cannot foster, maybe you can donate...cleaning supplies, new and used -towels, blankets, items on the Wysh List will be distributed among the shelter and local rescues and can be ordered from Amazon or dropped at one of the local donation bins.
