Want to see why ADA leaders will continue to avoid public - TopicsExpress

Want to see why ADA leaders will continue to avoid public discussions with this dentist for the near future? Since I doubt Dave will ever again respond to my “rants,” I went ahead and posted a parting shot on the ACE forum where he has volunteered to defend the ADA’s strategy behind invisible leadership: acedentalforum/forum/threads/2890-Dental-%E2%80%9Cinsurance%E2%80%9D-yet-another-unopposed-lie?p=18419#post18419 --------- Dave, you might have happened to read that this summer, I determined that the ADA censors 28% of the comments posted on their Facebook. As comparison, the AGD only censors 11%, and the AMA only 6%. (If you would like a copy of the study, please let me know). While waiting for your explanation why it is important for the ADA to repress concerns of dentists and patients - even concerns that don’t involve ADA leadership’s incapacitating fear of the FTC - I came across another suspicious item I would like you or any other accountable ADA leader to explain to me and my friends. Call it another rant if you must. In a December 06, 2013 ADA News article titled, “EHRs provide long-term savings, convenience,” Brett Lindstrom, Director of The Dental Record, claims dentists who purchase Dental Record/ADA electronic dental record systems can expect to save money over paper dental records, yet he offers no evidence on which to base the claim. (Because there is none). ada.org/news/9435.aspx I’ve attended the ADA’s annual Evidence-Based Dentistry conference, so I happen to know that the ADA is a huge supporter of EBD, and would never knowingly allow such a counter-intuitive statement about savings to be posted in an ADA publication without convincing evidence to back up such a bold claim. Nevertheless, neither Britt Lindstrom, Director of Dental Record, nor unresponsive/unaccountable ADA leaders could supply such information. It’s been two months since I brought this to the attention of the ADA, yet the lie continues to mislead ADA members - increasing sales of the only ADA-endorsed dental software. Level with me, Dave, one dentist to another. Don’t you agree that the ADA went way out on a limb to help support The Dental Record - which also advertises in the ADA News? If conflict of interest is indeed getting between the ADA and membership, let’s face that problem and correct it before it becomes obvious. ---------------- D.
