Want to smoke some weed, but your company drug tests you? Buffalo residents, I think today, you finally can. Portland Maine legalized marijuana inside its city limits yesterday. Whats that mean for us? Well, marijuana residue sampled in your bloodstream is no longer evidence of illegal activity. A simple hotel receipt from a town a short car trip away justifies its presence. In short, if you pop positive now for pot, that doesnt mean you broke the law. It is not illegal for residents of Buffalo to smoke weed, it is illegal for residents of buffalo to smoke weed IN BUFFALO. This has not yet been, but will be, established in whats called case law. It will come to court, and a judge will make a determination. From that time on, attorneys will simply reference that first case, in any trial, and the judge will refer to, and go with, the ruling on record. This will cause DAs not to prosecute, since they have no hope at all of winning a case already decided against them by case law. Im not saying that some companies might not be dicks and not hire you if you pop for pot, but, I am saying that you might have a civil case against them, if they do. And you will win (until the publically mark in their y laws that they terminate for legal uses of marijuana. No company has that yet. So, today, pack your pipes with no fears.
