Wanted, exceptional dancers for a personal photographic project, by aaron burgess, photographer. Photographic project Through The Air, collaborating with dancers. About me: A commercial photographer based in Auckland. Working on some personal conceptual photography projects. About the project: a photographic series incorporating people suspended in the air. Who I want: Experienced contemporary dancers that are comfortable creating a range of manoeuvres in the air. I am looking for about 10 dancers, within different disciplines, including ballet, modern, hip-hop. Process: Shooting dancers, one at a time, in a studio or gymnasium on a trampoline, using high speed flash lighting. These images will then be composited onto a pre-existing background I have shot for the series. When: I am hoping to shoot this the next two weeks, before 24th July 2014. One session will be in studio, the other in a gymnasium. My expectation is that each dancer will be required for approximately one hour, during the shoot. Where: This will be shot in 2 sessions at either Kingsize studio in Grey Lynn, or Tristar Gymnasiam in Mt Roskill, or possibly a space at Unitec In exchange: I will provide some high quality, retouched images for your portfolios. Attached is an example of an image I have previously shot for the series. I am hoping to extend on this through working with amazing dancers.
