Wanted man arrested on heroin charges in Granby GRANBY, Mass. (WWLP) – A man who was wanted on warrants ran from a trooper during a traffic stop and was later arrested with 40 bags of heroin, state police say. According to state police media relations, they arrested Eric L. Bressette, 28, of Belchertown following a brief chase in Granby on Monday afternoon. State police say that around 1:00 P.M., a trooper pulled a Chevy Tahoe over on Carver Street, for traffic violations. Bressette, who was a passenger in that SUV, then allegedly got out and ran into the woods and a marshy area. The trooper ran after him, and Bressette tripped on a fallen tree. The trooper allegedly saw Bressette trying to get rid of heroin, and after a short struggle, they brought him into custody. In total there were 40 packets of the drug, which troopers believe were packaged for distribution. Bressette is being charged with possession with intent to distribute, resisting arrest, and being a disorderly person. He was also wanted on warrants out of East Brookfield District Court and Eastern Hampshire District Court in Belchertown, which is where he was arraigned on the new charges. The driver of the SUV was given a verbal warning for the traffic violations.
