Wanted to recognize the meritorious actions of two of our DoorVets, Travis and Sterling, in the prevention of a domestic violence incident in downtown Houston. At approximately 0230, a clearly inebriated and belligerent man began violently choking and pulling the hair of the woman he was with (and whom it turns out was celebrating her birthday). The off duty DoorVets were across the street during the initial stages of the confrontation, but intervened at the first sign of violence towards the woman. She was shielded from his aggression by the DoorVets and HPD was on scene within minutes. The man remained belligerent and verbally abusive to anyone in earshot even after being arrested. I could not be more proud of the actions of these private citizens, it speaks to the personal character of these DoorVets, and their actions will result in immediate promotion.
