Wanted to share something..... My very best friend, Carol Gallmeyer who some of you may know has been battling breast cancer for a number of years now and has the best attitude of any person I know. She wanted to come to our bonfire party on Saturday, but because her cancer has spread, Nd she is on a really high dose of chemo, she has only a few good days right now till this round is over. She stayed home, and I really missed seeing her. To further complicate things, a few weeks ago, she had a mild stroke with minimal effects, but is going through PT as well. This is the strongest woman I know. Her husband came to the party, and I sent him home with a Get Well Quilt with the hopes that it will make her feel little bit better. Well, I received a thank you note from her this morning in the mail, and she was surprised and delighted with the quilt. That really made my day that I have somehow comforted her. She and Ron were the first people we met when we moved to Fort Wayne and we went to our first SCCA meeting, so we have been friends for a very long time. I dont have a picture of the quilt, but it has antique sewing machines in one of the fabrics, and Carol helps sew the FWR SCCA race flags with her antique sewing machine that easily keeps up with our more modern machines! Carol is a fighter and has a great attitude. If you can keep her in your prayers, that would be great. She is probably curled up in her easy chair snuggling with her quilt. Thanks for listening!
