Wanted to share this lovely tribute to K9 Kota. For those of you who dont know, a year ago tomorrow (1/3/14) Kota was on a raid with his handler. When he went after a suspect in the attic of the house, he fell through the floor of the attic and crashed down onto the floor of room below, shattering his right front leg. He could still hear the officers trying to subdue the suspect in the attic so he dragged himself up the stairs to help. His injuries were so so severe that the vets at first did not believe that he would ever be able to walk, let alone function again as a Police K9. However, with dedication and much support, he was able to return to duty as a Narcotics K9 a couple of months ago. He was one of the 2014 Hero Dogs from the American Humane Society.
