Wappingers Parents be aware!!!! This is going on right NOW! Dear Mr. Bitteker: Congratulations on becoming our new board president! I have quite the interesting problem you need to be made aware of. I have been sent a note from Van Wyck stating my daughters physical to try out for sports must be done by a school doctor. When I questioned this and told them I would use my own doctor this was the response from Kurt Jesman: I am sorry. The physical has to be performed by our school doctor. The district doctors do not accept personal doctors physicals. This is ludicrous and unacceptable! Since when is my own doctor not acceptable? As far as I recall I am still in charge of my daughters health AND education. Since when is the school district in the business of medical care - so much so that they will not accept our own primary care physicians (whom we have known for years) stamp of approval? Why do I take my daughter to get an annual each year if this is not so? What the heck is going on here? I am infuriated and this will not sit well with the other parents either.
