War. I am thankful to the veterans. It has usually been young men, now women too (usually of the lower socioeconomic class), who have been changed by war, physically, mentally and emotionally. Some were changed forever, never allowed to become who they might have been, because of the personal destruction. Others went, saw, returned and healed, maybe not totally, but went on with life. There, nonetheless, is a cost for war. The cost is great and can, and does affect families and future generations. It is very noble to give your life for a cause you truly believe in. Let us not get lost in the glory of war, or the rhetoric of warhawks, but choose very careful where we send our children and make sure the fight is right. And be prepared for their damaged and broken bodies and souls upon their return, for fighting, and giving, on our behalf. GOD BLESS THE VETERANS, past, present and future
