War, Inc. (2008) - John Cusack is a hitman named Hauser in this political comedy about a front designed to take out a leader and keep a war torn nation in.their control. John took a keen interest in this project, getting it from page to screen. His character is of someone who is disenfranchised with life after the death of his wife and abduction of his baby girl. He takes this assignment and becomes enamored with a reporter (Marisa Tomei) and overly protective of a Middle Eastern pop star (Hillary Duff). He tries in this role, but the whole film seems to be off a step. Some shining moments, but definitely not the John Cusack performance that he has delivered in the past. No shame if you miss this role, or movie. The next film up on the Cusack rotation is the 2009 film 2012.
