Warcraft Movie Theory and Speculation Blizzard just released - TopicsExpress

Warcraft Movie Theory and Speculation Blizzard just released the World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor Expansion Cinematic Trailer and its pretty awesome and gives me high hopes for further speculation into the live action movie. I no longer play World of Warcraft nor have I ever cared for the in-game lore. One thing Ive always cherished about Blizzard though is their cinematic team. I havent really seen much from them in terms of art direction, story, or atmosphere since Diablo IIIs original launch. And when Blizzard didnt release a cinematic with their Diablo III expansion, I started to get worried. The cinematic team since Warcraft has always been able to tell great stories with just a few minutes of screen time. Every time I see a cinematic by Blizzard (minus the Mists of Panderia ones), Ive flipped out inside, going all CGI fangurl. I rewatch a cinematic over and over again.. and back in the day (cuz Im old yo), we didnt have the YOUTUBEz to see high quality versions. Id have to scope out and find the best HD quality version so I could play it on my projector with surround sound. They are just soo immersive and bring you right into the story. /chills While I dont really have an interest in the Warlord of Draenor expansion story or even the original or new Hellscream orc story, this cinematic pulls you in. The details of the environment, the expression of Grom, the whole atmosphere... and the score!!!!...so originally vanilla WoW, very nostaltic. All of this makes me suddenly interested in the story. And now Im watching this trailer over and over again asking myself questions like wait, so his future self went back in time to stop his dad from drinking the blood of Mannaroth? Who was Mannaroth again? Why didnt they execute Garrosh when they had the chance? Some of these things Ive picked up because @Azyxa has told me a lot from reading the Christie Golden War Crimes book. Of course, now I wish the trailer had been 30 minutes long and filled with way more story. I love my detailed graphics, colors, and textures...and the music. Seeing the World of Warcraft come to life is just plain awesome. And ever since they announced the movie (Warcraft) was going to be live action and not fully CGI (..eons ago), Ive been so skeptical and disappointed. Hell, Id even take a 30 minute CGI over a 2 hour live action movie (who the hell wants to relive the bitter taste of Dungeons and Dragons again?) ! But now I have this theory that while the movie isnt going to be fully CGI, I think its going to have a LOT of CGI components, a lot. The technology has developed so much since they first announced the movie. Acting with motion capture has been mastered, digital reconstruction is a standard! Its a great, great time in movie tech, especially for fantasy. And then I went and checked the IMDB cast list for the movie, it seems so far there are no huge A-list actors. This would be worrisome if it werent for the fact that Im noticing a good portion of them have voice acting backgrounds! So my theory is that these guys will be highly digitized and composited with a crap ton of CGI. Plus, if you noticed in the Visual Effects credits, TONS of work is being done by ILM!! Industrial Light and Magic whose works include Avatar, the Star Wars prequels, Iron Man, Transformers, Star Trek, AI, Riddick, Pacific Rim... you know...the company that is known for amazing eye candy work. This is a GREAT sign!!! Now Im just waiting for them to release the tiniest of teasers that includes movie footage to confirm my theory! But its looking good so far! I have great hope! 2016 man... 10 years after it was announced... so much HYPE. Please be awesome!! wp.me/p4Voyz-2s
