Warehouse Superviser Metrie - Chicago, IL We are currently looking for a reliable and driven individual to fill the role of Warehouse Supervisor within our New Lenox Operations Team. The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and assigning the daily operational work of the distribution warehouse afternoon shift – managing personnel and equipment, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. It is the Warehouse Supervisors obligation to enforce standard operating procedures as well as Metrie’s Policies and Procedures as they may pertain to safety and working efficiencies. Reporting Relationships The Warehouse Supervisor will report directly to the Operations Manager. The person in this role is a member of the Operations Team and will collaborate with numerous individuals and teams such as sales, manufacturing & supply chain, in order to achieve the branch business goals. Key Accountabilities The most critical outcomes for this role are to: 1. Create and maintain a safe workplace for all employees 2. Coordinate and allocate warehouse personnel on a daily and weekly basis according to the shifting needs of the business. 3. Coordinates warehouse activities including but not limited to shipping, receiving, inventory control and coordinates the maintenance of all warehouse equipment. 4. To ensure all aspects of freight and shipping are optimized. Where & when required, coordinate the daily loading and shipping of product with the transportation carrier. 5. Contribute/active member of the branch Lean committee. Institute operational best practices and reduce process variance and costs by driving continuous improvement through Lean activities 6. Collaborate with sales to understand and satisfy our customer’s service expectations. DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Professional Qualifications The education and background experiences desired for this position include: Understanding of the building industry and construction practices preferred. High level of proficiency with web based computer services. Strong utilization and understanding of spreadsheets. Strong written and oral communication skills. Strong leadership capabilities.
