If the majority can change the rules with a simple majority vote in order to defeat what heretofore was a right of a minority party here in the senate there are no minority rights left. - Jeff Session Today Democrats use mob rule to move a nuclear option motion to change the rules of our republic further enabling this dictatorship mentality we have in government. This action to change the Senate rules and weaken the Founding Fathers’ vision for checks and balances is yet another disturbing power grab. This is history! This is the end of the United States Senate. A Senate that was meant to protect the American people from authoritarian one-party rule by requiring at least some consensus to move anything through the body. Republicans are currently trying to challenge the vote (52 - 48,) that should have never taken place, and just opened a door that is far too dangerous to leave open. In 2005 Democrats knew this, even Senator Obama, who said The Founding Fathers established the filibuster as a means of protecting the minority from the tyranny of the majority, yet today they, again, act as tyrants, breaking the rules to change the rules.
