Warning...rant ahead: Im SO tried of (a) no one talking to one another in a company anymore; (b) no one knowing their product; (3) charging you for every crazy thing; and, (4) my personal favorite - NO ONE SPEAKING ENGLISH. Ive had a local cable company for years (which for personal reasons I cannot stand, but - until now - provided me with decent service at a decent price). I have Rokus and therefore have streaming TV on all my televisions eliminating the need for a plethora of crazy cable channels that half of which I dont need or watch, allowing me to al la carte the channels/stations I want and being able to purchase the bare bones basic cable -- that is until today. Now, after my move, I was informed that ALL the channels are digital (which I thought they were already) and I HAVE to rent their crappy boxes (which, until now, I didnt have to do for just basic cable) or no service. Of course, these arent free and will jack up my cable where Ill be paying more for the boxes all together than what I pay for the service! In Blount Co. I could do this and was fine; just hook the coax to the back of the tv. Of course, now, the installer has NO CLUE about what I had before and only his marching orders for now and I HAVE to HAVE the box. When I called to transfer my service the customer rep of course told me I could have exactly what I had before. Ugh! Hmmmm....may go back to DirecTV after all! Okay, rant over!
