Muslim women who wear the full burqa have low levels of Vitamin D, this badly affects their physical and mental health, if they are pregnant it will also affect their unborn child. Vitamin D is very important to the strengthening of the immune system and for absorbing calcium. Some apologists claim that the practice of Islamic inbreeding is more to do with cultural and tribal aspects, however Muhammad himself married his cousin Zaynab Bint Jahsh, simply because he liked the shape of her body. The Quran mandates that Muhammad is the best example for the Muslims to follow, therefore Islamic inbreeding is religiously encouraged. Islam also encourages tribalism, therefore the religion itself is more at fault than the culture that comes with it. Statistically, unborn children are more at risk from stillbirths or birth defects if their parents are followers of the Islamic religion than if their parents followed any other mainstream religion. Also, there have been many reported cases of honor killings where females have refused to marry their first cousins and were then murdered by their families as a result.
