Warrants for witnesses in blasts trial AN arrest warrant has been issued for four people who failed to testify in the trial of five men charged in connection with a spate of ATM bombings across Bahrain. The witnesses, who are also employed in banks targeted by the group, were due to appear at the High Criminal Court yesterday, but did not show up for the fourth time in a row. The trial was adjourned to December 1 to bring all four to court. Two of the defendants, who are brothers, were allegedly funded by sources from Tehran and one of them travelled to the Persian state for training in how to use explosives. The three others are still at large and are being tried in absentia. All have been accused of being part of an illicit group that planned and carried out terrorist attacks in Bahrain. The alleged ringleader, who is also at large, ran and established the group that aimed to cripple key establishments in Bahrain. The attacks took place over a four-day period in February at National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) branches in Sanad and Sitra and the Credimax building in Seef and caused damage totalling more than BD42,000.
