Warrior on Wheels AUDITIONS 22 Nov 2014 The Chaeli campaign is holding auditions for a super-exciting children’s show that will be part of various festivals and an Eastern Cape Tour in 2015. Helped by his guardian-mother, teacher, doctor, school friends and a forest full of fire fairies our Warrior-Explorer must battle the dark shadow of Fear and his ghoulish henchmen in his journey to discover everything he was born to be. The Chaeli Campaign’s show will take your imagination on a journey, warm your heart and soothe your soul. Based on Deirdre Gower’s book, the show aims to engage and enliven the imagination and encourages a more accepting society, especially for those with disabilities. Warrior on Wheels is a performance created for children aged 7 - 15, which can be enjoyed by the whole family. https://youtube/watch?v=-tEzuwPa9H0 CHARACTER BIOS: We are auditioning for 3 roles: Guardian Female figure 2 x Puppeteers that will play various characters throughout the show. Guardian Female figure Gender: Female Race: Any ethnicity is welcomed Age: Mid 20s – Mid 30s A very nurturing character who has an immense love for her child, although she also does feel the burden of not being able to communicate with her mute son. The performer should have a strong knowledge of physical theatre and puppetry. 2 x Puppeteers Gender: Male and/or Female Race: Any ethnicity is welcomed Age: 20’s – mid 30’s These performers should have a strong knowledge of physical theatre and puppetry. They should be able to play a variety of characters with ease and energy. SPECIAL NOTES: The performers preferably (but not necessarily) should have skills in the following areas: • Movement/ Dance • Physical theatre/performance • Improvisation and workshopping skills • Puppetry INTERESTED?
