Warriors for Christ Cyber Signals Newsletter/October-November 2014 FATHER CREATOR’S WORD “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” – Matthew 28:19, 20 WARRIORS FOR CHRIST DISCIPLESHIP There are great ministry opportunities that are developing for Warriors for Christ. The doors that are opening wide for WFC are exciting and challenging. The Port Gamble SKlallam camp meeting was a great success and is now leading to many new ministry opportunities. Pastor JR Boyd from SKlallam Worship Center in Kingston WA invited Warriors for Christ to provide discipleship follow up for the Powerhouse camp meeting. He could see the lack of follow up from past events was having little change or effect on the local church and the lives of the Christians on the reservation. He asked Warriors for Christ to: 1. Help with follow up and discipleship training during and after the Powerhouse Camp meeting and future outreaches 2. Help train his leaders and church members, using the new edition of Walking the New Path 3. Help provide leadership and ministry at a Native Pastors conference One pastor we met at the camp meeting, Pastor Woody Elmore has an amazing testimony of how God has used his life; he also has an understanding of the need for Native discipleship. We hope to come alongside his church to reach the reservation. We were asked to provide discipleship training by Pastor Ken Pretty on Top this year at Crow Fair, Crow Agency, Montana. Although we were unable to go this year because of the timing, we hope to provide discipleship training in the future. To be able to provide discipleship training for these new ministry opportunities, we need your partnership. James 1:22 I heard a really great sermon. The main point was “count the cost - are we really taking seriously our decision to follow Christ---are we really HIS DISCIPLE? As I walked out of the Church, I had mixed feelings. On one hand, it was a challenging sermon, but on the other, I wondered was anyone really going to take the sermon to heart? What change will take place in their hearts and actions, after hearing this challenge? My son talks about the American Christian meaning one who goes to church and that is about it--- no change of heart, lifestyle, and No Action ! So today, tonight, this week- I challenge YOU (me too) to really be a Disciple of our Lord! Let the Holy Spirit come in and change you from within; and then take Action- by making our world different through your life in Him. Make His Light in your life shine bright to a very dark world. Make a difference with your life- one day, one week, one month at a time. Then as Paul wrote, you will have run the race well. Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. 1 Corinthians 9:24,25 Start now by praying, claiming, and acting on His Word: He will give you wisdom and direction. I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you. Psalms 32:8 He has given you great blessings - He chose YOU for a purpose. Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight... Ephesians 1:3,4 Now it is time for Action- For we are Gods workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10 Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. Matthew 7:24 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit-- fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. John 15:16 The Lords direction - what to do Then Jesus came to them and said, All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.“ Matthew 28: 18-20 If you are prepared to make a recommitment to run His race, let us know so that our prayer circle can pray for you and we can encourage you. NATIVE PRAYER REQUESTS • “For Paul G. to be filled with hope, love, joy and peace and for all depression, fear, anxiety, to be replaced with God’s perfect love. For him to be so hungry for Jesus that all other pursuits pale in comparison. And for God to lead him to just the right job. Thanks!” – Anonymous • “My 28 yr. old son, Joseph, has a very aggressive form of lymphoma that does not respond to chemotherapy. He received an experimental treatment at the National Cancer Institute. Please ask our dear Lord God to heal Joseph and bless him with results of being in a full remission when he meets with his doctors on 09/11/14. Thank You.” – Joanne • “I’m asking for you to pray for my daughter April. She left her husband because of abuse but she met a man and has moved in with him. She also has type 1 diabetes and does not take care of herself. She does know the Lord.” – Angie • “Please pray for my younger sister. It has been a long year. She has been clean and sober for a year now! She accepted Jesus as her savior in November. Last year in August she was in jail so they took her son from her. I had him for a year. He is home now. He is 6 years old. She, because of her drinking had very bad parenting skills, she is having a very hard time because any time she tries to correct or discipline him he threatens her that he will call child protective services. She is at her wits end. She is a very good mom; it is now all a huge do over. Also, pray for the 6 year old that he will come to understand how important it is to listen and trust his mother. Thank you!” – Anonymous WARRIORS FOR CHRIST PRAYER NEEDS • As opportunities for discipleship open up; to train church members how to use Walking the New Path for follow up after camp meetings and tent revivals, we will need a place to stay. Unlike evangelists who come into town for short periods, discipleship training takes time. (See Paul’s discipleship in Acts). We need to be able to stay for a week or 2 to train Native leaders. Solution = a trailer with a truck or SUV. In addition, we are starting a travel fund to provide for food, fuel, etc. • Pray for increased funding for completion of the discipleship center, printing of materials, distribution of materials, and discipleship training at the headquarters, urban areas, and on reservations. • Pray that as the ministry of Warriors for Christ expands, the Lord will also bring needed funding. Pray for additional staff to come alongside Warriors for Christ. We need volunteers for website, Facebook, office support, headquarters, illustrations, and accounting. • Pray for the protection of Warriors for Christ staff and supporters.
