Warriors, we all hear people say they are going to carb load or carb up before a workout. Well what is carb loading in the first place? When you exercise your body utilizes a form of carbohydrate called glycogen. Glycogen is stored in the liver and muscle cells. Once utilized, one may feel tired or burnt during heavy exercise. When the body has utilized the available glycogen it will resort to burning fat for the needed fuel. The theory behind carb loading or carbing up is that if you consume carbohydrates before exercise you will have more glycogen stores available and therefore may avoid the burnt or burned out feeling that can happen during rigorous workouts like the Elite Warrior Boot Camp.
