Warsaw in the weirdest of ways, touched me more than any other - TopicsExpress

Warsaw in the weirdest of ways, touched me more than any other city I have ever been to. It is a visually bland city. It doesnt have the architectural grandeur that most other large cities in Europe cherish. Warsaw was totally flattened to the ground during World War II - not a single building was left standing. Everything you see is from the post war era. Walking through what was once the Warsaw ghetto was quite a sobering and spine tingling experience. It is hard to imagine 300,000 people concentrated in a small area - waiting for their turn to be executed. History that I hope is never ever repeated. Yet, there is a sense of pride and commitment from everyone I interacted with. This is a city that is bound to excel and put Poland on the world map.
