Was asleep Saturday night nursing off the effects of a great day in Napa Valley when at 3:20 AM, the bed and entire room felt like it exploded! 6.0 earthquake! Was insanely loud. The circa 1800s B&B felt like it would collapse and we were on the bottom floor of the three story home. It was an unreal feeling. We were very lucky. The rest of the city didnt fair so well. Several of the wineries we visited were hit very hard. Literally, the exact spots in two of the businesses where we were standing just hours before, were pretty much decimated. One had barrels stacked to the ceiling in the tasting room and all of the barrels had collapsed into the room. Very sad to see such destruction of a beautiful city. I am thankful that not many people were injured. If it had happened just hours earlier, it would have be aweful. Im sure they will recover, rebuild and we will visit again one day.
