Was at The Central today afternoon for a late lunch and decided to take a short stroll of the Singapore River. Happened to chance upon three foreign workers cleaning up a short area of the pavement next to the river. Someone must have spilled something on the walk way and these workers were tasked to clean up the mess. As I watched them carried out their task, I was shocked to see two workers only stood and watch while the other third worker started to wash up the small affected area. They later joined in towards the end. I remembered PM Lee asks the country two weeks ago to pump up their productivity as the economy may slow down this year. However, seeing how three foreign workers went about cleaning up a small pavement area made me wonder how difficult it must be to improve the productivity of our country. This video only lasted two minutes.
