Was at the dispensary site yesterday and a dove flew into the building. It tried to fly out by flapping against a window. The dove settled on the floor. I moved in slowly to see its response and help it find its way outside. The dove just sat there and I reached to it with a finger under its beak and it did not move. I placed my hand on the doves back and lifted the bird up. The dove stayed quietly in my grasp. Was not shaking or fighting to be released. I was able to stroke it on its neck under the beak. I asked Dan, my partner, take the photo with my iPhone. I was amazed at how little fear the dove showed. The bird did not appear stunned or frightened. Such a beautiful creature.
