Was at the gas station about a half an hour ago. This young Hispanic guy approaches me as my wife yells from the car, he wants to know if you can help him, his girlfriend locked her keys in her car. Theyre stuck at the pump. First I move the truck from the pump, then I immediately go on the hunt for the ol hanger trick. Its strange that even when youre trying to help someone , and it becomes apparent to others that are RIGHT THERE,its STILL hard to get audience participation. Luckily the window was cracked. No hanger in sight, so I try and see if I can hook his belt buckle on there(and no he was NOT still wearing it.: Thats for the SMART ASS who just asked themself that question out loud),the handle, and pull. After two or three minutes of this. A lady comes over and prayers over what were doing, and asks us to say AMEN. As she walks away she says Youll get it. Just then another lady asks his girl if shed like her to call triple A. Then a hand reaches between us with a twisted off antenna. I never saw the face, but it held exactly what we needed as it turned out. Just then his girl saysSee if you can push the latch back thats on the door handle 3 seconds later the doors open. Looking back on the situation, as unapproachable as I can look MOST of the time, I never got offended that they asked the black guy to help them break into their car, just the RIGHT Guy. Thanks for taking time for my story.
