Was going to post on my blog about the three faith based movies - TopicsExpress

Was going to post on my blog about the three faith based movies out there (Son of God, Noah, Gods Not Dead) and thought, Nah, I will just post directly to FB. Hopefully I can be succinct and clear. There is a lot of controversy of Noah. And Im sure rightly so from what Ive read. Personally, I was much more offended with the artistic license they took on Son of God than on Noah. I think both missed the true message the Bible presents. Anyway, if you go to either the two movies based on the two Bible stories please remember this: they are just movies. They may misrepresent, or maybe, just maybe present an accurate account. Dont know, I havent seen either. We dont get our inspiration and theology from film, but from Scripture. So if you want to know the story of Noah - read Genesis chapters 6-9. If you want to know the TRUE story of Jesus - read the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John found in the New Testament. In fact, I would encourage everyone to read them whether you see the movies or not, but especially before or right after you might see either movies. As far as Gods Not Dead - Ive heard it is a real good movie. The only criticism Ive read so far is that the arguments the Atheist uses in the movie hasnt been used by the leading Atheists in a while, plus the defense of God is too simplistic. I dont know, havent watched it - YET. As for me and my wife - we are going to skip Son of God (frankly I would walk out probably, unless of course they threw in that Ninja Angel from the Bible Mini-series in there, maybe fighting off Roman soldiers at the cross). We are also going to skip out on Noah. Frankly if what Ive read is right theyve blown it on why the Creator destroys the earth with the flood. Genesis chapter six tells us the reason - read it. We are planning on seeing Gods Not Dead though. Even if the arguments are no longer used and the defense of Gods existence is too simplistic, at least it sounds entertaining (plus I wont get upset with any artistic license issues). Thats all I have to say. Im not interested in getting into public discussions or debates, so dont bother responding. If however you want to discuss it in private messages - fire away privately. God bless.
