Was it love? She wasn’t sure. She’d told many a person during her decade or so in the dating scene that she loved them…but this was something new altogether. For the first time, she finally realized what all of those sappy songs were about on the radio…and hated every inch of it. This wasn’t love as anyone knew it. This was an unusual infatuation the likes of which she’d never experienced before. Granted, they had only endured one physical encounter and, regardless of how standoff-ish and weird Katie had acted…there was something about this girl that reminded her a lot of herself at that age. It was an unspoken bond that bordered on the strange and primitive. It was almost animalistic. She was everything that Willow had ever wanted in a friend and, as fate would have it, she was walking towards her at this very moment. “Hey, there’s my little gypsy” Willow welcomed her lovingly “Are we a little sleepy this morning?” “New rule, Willow…don’t ever call me ‘gypsy’ again.” Katie instructed “My mother, rest her soul, was a Fleetwood Mac fanatic and used to call me that. My dad always called me ‘Tiny Dancer’ though. That would be acceptable if you ever had to call me anything other than Kathryn, Katie, or Kat.” Willow was slightly taken by surprise at the comment. It was almost as though Katie had rehearsed this speech before. “Oh…I see. An Elton John fan. Well, to each their own…but I always thought the guy was singing about Tony Danza.
