Was just thinking… To my kids…my grandkids…and all of theirs. My deepest apologies to you each for the unfortunate and horrid legacy I and my fellow man have left you, for the scars that have influenced, affected and diminished your quality of life. I beg your forgiveness for the spider webs of blacktop that cut through our beautiful country, the mountains of plastic and garbage and the barren hillsides where majestic trees once thrived. I seek relief from the shame of our caustic oceans where sea life was once abundant and safe to eat and the absence of sunlight on city streets because of cold, ugly, mile-high concrete structures. There is no valid excuse for the way in which I have lived or the condition of our home. I had hoped for something far better for you all. Take what is left and do something wonderful with it, that those who follow you will have better than what you have been given. This will be your legacy to them.
