Was on a road trip with my wife and we stopped in New Buffalo to spend the night. Hotels had messed up our reservation but the night staff was so helpful in getting us a credit from Hotels, and finding us a great place to eat (Jimmys Bar and Grill) that we came back to stay even though Fairfield Inn was $20 bucks cheaper. When we got to our room we were appalled; however there were no other rooms available and the night staff was unable to offer any discount as she had been expressly forbidden by the General Manager due to the holiday weekend. So we decided to address it in the morning with the General Manager. In the morning when checking out the first thing I told the General Manager was that his night staff had been very helpful and was the reason we stayed, however the room had a long list of issues and I would like to discuss the pricing as the $169.00 was an unacceptable rate for the state of the room. He offered a $30.00 discount and then when I said that was not sufficient he dismissed me with a wave of his hand and told me to leave HIS hotel. I told him I would take the $30 dollars and that I would be contacting Baymont Inn & Suites Corporate for full satisfaction. He refused to even give me the $30 he had offered and continued to wave his hand dismissively while he addressed another guest. The list of issues with our room... - Door had to be slammed to get it to lock - Deadbolt would not engage - Doors and tub were covered in drywall dust - No Curtains only blinds - No light bulbs in lamp - Caulk seal around AC unit had gaps - TV was not plugged in - No chair or valet to place suitcase on - Tub surround was not complete - Drywall mud or caulk was all over the outside of the tub - Faucet and knobs on tub were loose and moved side to side and up and down - Cold water knob on tub did not work, (I used a dime to fix it so my wife could soak) - Caulk seal around shower surround unit had gaps - Drywall mud on Shower rod - Shower head was not attached properly, sprayed out the side and soaked the floor ( I fixed it ) - Shower Faucet leaked and was not attached completely - No Shower Pressure - Mold behind bathroom door Issues with facility ... - Emergency exit was filthy and I was told if I used it it would come off its hinges - Room across the hall had a piece of paper taped to it with for its room number - Pool was Temporarily Closed however people were using it. I was told when I checked in to ignore the sign. - Old signage out front
