Was reminded of this scripture- thanks Debra Morrissey - it is accurate for this post; Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. James 1:19 We need to understand something the enemy may try to use against us... mis·un·der·stand·ing/ a failure to understand something correctly. a misunderstanding of the facts and the law synonyms: misinterpretation, misconstruction, misreading, misapprehension, misconception, the wrong idea, false impression This has been an area of epic fail in the Body of Christ. People misunderstand others, their motives, actions, and even words sometimes. I said sometimes- because there are times that people mean to be mean. But there are times when there are misunderstanding and according to the definition of the very word- a failure to understand correctly. In these cases it is not the one you upset with that is wrong, but you. Because you are the one that has not gotten the accurate and true understanding, You have the wrong idea, wrong impression, you have misinterpreted that person and their actions. So you the one with the misunderstanding is the one that needs the correcting, and gaining of right understanding. A lot of times it is so simple and yet we so rarely do it- just ask the person, talk to the person about their intentions and why they said or did something. Instead of allowing the enemy to build a stronghold of misunderstanding and error . Like I said there are some cases where you discern rightly and folks are just acting carnal and irresponsible for their words and actions- lacking boundaries and accountability... But lets be sure we not the one with the issue called misunderstanding....
