Was reminded tonight that tomorrow is the anniversary of the day I - TopicsExpress

Was reminded tonight that tomorrow is the anniversary of the day I lost my Dad. Although I was only 16 when I lost him I have very vivid and found memories of him. He was a hard working man. He woke at 4 AM and was never home earlier then 4 PM. Me and my 3 older brothers never wanted for anything. He served our country, worked for Drakes cakes and wore white Tshirts with a pocket on the front. He had a quiet humbleness that always let us know that we were loved and secure. He took us out on the boat on Saturdays, to church on Sunday and to the bakery afterward. He was a faithful husband, a GREAT father, a wonderful son and son in law, and the best friend anyone ever had. His only fault I ever remember were that he smoked cigarettes that took him from us all far too soon. He left me with great ripples for life. He taught me to fish, shuck clams, what a good work ethic was, how to be faithful, how to love unconditionally, and how to just live without regrets. He was the finest man I have ever known. He saw my sweet 16 but never got the privilege of walking me down the aisle. That honor went to his oldest son my wonderful brother Scott. One of my favorite pictures from my wedding is a silhouette of me looking at my bouquet with a portrait of him in the background. I remember that the photographer went to take it down and my brother Scott nearly took his head off. Sweet, Sweet memories! I find solice in knowing that there will come a day when I will see him again in a place where there will be no pain, no sorrow and no tears. Miss you Daddy!
