Was sitting on my porch feeling a bit sad when I heard the most beautiful banter. 5 feet away there were male and female cardinal birds with what appeared to be a young male--I imagine their son... whose feathers were just turning red. The older male was feeding berries from his beak to the young bird. The three birds would fly from branch to branch together, chattering back and forth. What a beautiful reminder that when things feel sad, joy is nearby perhaps just a tree branch away.
