Was thinking about starting a blog about audio engineering for musicians. Was a musician for years before I got interested in engineering. But I think Im still getting a bit too technical now. A fragment of what I wrote today below. Feedback is welcome Lets move on to getting this soundwave converted to analog audio. The first thing we need is a microphone. Inside of a microphone is a very delicate mechanical device that can respond to sound pressure waves. Hold you hand in front of your mouth and talk. Can you feel any pressure on your hand? A microphone can. And thats what it responds to We have all heard of AC and DC. DC is much easier to understand, it means electrical current is just flowing in one direction through a circuit. Direct current - the electrons are only moving in one direction. In an AC circuit the signals are going back and forth in a pattern analogous to a the original acoustic sound wave and eventually moving a speaker back and forth.
