Was working on new book. A bridge played very heavily in the plot. But tonight I decided the bridge is not working. Must push imagination into full-time quirk. It has to be right. Must blend with my writing style so my characters can find their true voices and I can grasp the flow of the story. I was trying too hard to use this bridge but, alas, it wont portray the mystical feeling I want.. The bridge was almost a character, but not the kind of enchanting character I was after. I have to create this all-important aspect of story in order to touch readers with the magic. And the bridge aint it.
