Was your sleep disturbed last night by an ominous thump? An intermittent muffled, low moaning? Winter, after a feigned departure, has silently returned to WI. Last night, he broke into Springs modest little bungalow on the north side, thunked him firmly and squarely on the crown of his head with a salt-stained Sorel boot, dragged him across the cracked, dehydrated hardwood floor, taped him to a cane-bottomed wooden chair, stuffed a pair of woolen socks in his mouth and locked him in a tiny, forgotten storage closet beneath the stairs. 14 degrees at 8:30AM on Wednesday March 26th. And other than one day this weekend predicted to be in the upper 50s, the 10 day forecast shows an average temp of about 41 degrees. Admittedly better than 14 but still... We all want Spring back. Wont some merciful, well-to-do hero step forward, pay this miserable cold-hearted bastard of a season the ransom he is seeking and end this interminable winter once and for all?
