Wasnt it a beautiful Canalway Saturday? Were happy to congratulate Catherine R., of West Chester, OH - the winner of todays Daily Get To Know The Canalway Gift Pack. Plus, Catherine wins a Bonus Giveaway - Two Passes to the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo - courtesy of our great partner! For those of you playing our game, today we were looking for the names of two Carousels: 1) The Circle of Wildlife Carousel, at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo - Northeast Ohio’s most visited year-round attraction - surpassing one million visitors each year. While the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is home to 3,000 animals representing 600 species, in the past year, it also has become home to lions and tigers and bears of a different nature, via the Carousel. :) 2) The Western Reserve Historical Society (WRHS) is located in University Circle, Clevelands renowned arts and cultural district. The Societys headquarters includes among other things: The Crawford Auto-Aviation Museum; The Halle Costume Wing; and in November 2014, the fully restored Euclid Beach Carousel will be running in a new WRHS space built specifically to house the treasure. Full restoration of the hand-carved wooden carousel horses has been underway for the past year. If youd like to do a little time travel tomorrow - 8/10 - the States largest Civil War Reenactment will be taking place at Hale Farm & Village. This is another WRHS property located in the heart of Cuyahoga Valley National Park and available via a walk from the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad Station Road stop. See you tomorrow!
