Watch: Agyness Deyn stars in new film Electricity VIEW GALLERY Supermodel turned actress Agyness Deyn stars in her biggest role to date in a new film out tomorrow. The Failsworth-born star – real name Laura Hollins – plays Lily O’Connor, a young woman with epilepsy, in gritty British drama Electricity, which follows her search for her brother after their mother dies. Speaking to the M.E.N. ahead of the film’s release, Aggy, 31, said: “She tries to rekindle their relationship and in the process she has to confront her condition and make peace with it. “It’s a modern day Alice in Wonderland story where the taboo of epilepsy is grabbed by the scruff of its neck and made into something everyone can connect with.” Describing her research for the role, she added: “I worked with some great people who were very generous with their time – specialist doctors, people with epilepsy – and they all helped me to get a much broader view of the condition.” Video loading The film is a journey of self-discovery for Lily, much like the last few years have been for Agy.
