When Oliver’s parents divorce, he and his mother Maggie (Melissa McCarthy) move next door to lost war veteran Vincent (Bill Murry). Agreeing to watch Oliver after school, Vincent acts as a mentor to the young boy, as he bonds with him through bar visits and horse track races.
