Watched American Hustle with my parents and it is an incredible movie. I thought Christian Bale gives another tour de force performance of his career in an unrecognizable role as Irving Rosenfelld, a con artist who is pulled alongside his lover, Sydney Prosser played wonderfully by Amy Adams to work for an eccentric FBI agent, Richie DiMaso played by Bradley Cooper in a standout performance to expose an elaborate sting operation on corrupt politicians including Mayor Carmine Politio played by Jeremy Renner in a cast against type role. In addition, Jennifer Lawrence gives another powerhouse performance cast against type as Rosalyn, Irvings selfish wife. Louis C.K. is amusing in a small role as Stoddard Thorsen, Richies supervisor as well as Robert DeNiro as Victor Tellegio, a Mafia overlord and right hand man to Meyer Lansky. Highlight: Irving and Carmine singing along to Delilah by Tom Jones. A must see movie if you want to learn about the FBI ABSCAM scandal or if youre a fan of anyone whos in the cast. Rating 10/10.
