Watched Jobs with Ashton Kutcher last night. Not as good as I - TopicsExpress

Watched Jobs with Ashton Kutcher last night. Not as good as I hoped but pretty good (3 of 5 stars from me). It also illustrates one big thing: People who change the world are assholes. The best journalists I know are assholes. They are smart, focused and dedicated people and do not suffer fools well. They do not work well or respect others who do not share their enthusiasm or professional skills. It made me feel good about caring about my job and being better at it more than most people around me. I am not a team player and I really hate being told what to do by someone who knows less about my job than I do, which is almost everyone. This is part of the reason journalism - and American Greatness - is dying. Managers would rather people get along than make a great product. Throw out the passion, you lose the passion. Simple as that. Passion comes with its downside but people like Jobs not only had it but demanded and tolerated it from his employees because he wanted to change the world and make the best product. Now, if I can just turn my social misfit syndrome into cash! Now, I have many friends who probably feel this way and I wonder if they will comment on this. (michelle? Christina-Marie GonzoMama Wright?) BTW - Jobs was not the best father or husband and certainly not a likeable guy. Also, ate almost exclusively fruit all his life yet died very early even with all his money to pay for medical treatment. He was just six years older than me. Last thing: Nothing has more positively influenced my professional career than the Macintosh and everything that came from it. The Graphic User Interface changed the world and journalism and I thank God every day for it. I still have my first Mac in storage and it stills runs. Thanks Steve and Woz. imdb/title/tt2357129/
