Watched this today after I finished studying. I love this show. The action is so grim, brutal, and bloody. The soundtrack is pretty awesome too. The footage is from the remake of The Golden Age arc. So give it a watch. Ill warn you, its -Very- violent and gets way, way dark close to the end of the Golden Age arc. Like, rip someones spine out violent. Still, its got a great story-line which examines the role of fate and free will, as well as the effect that mens dreams have on them. The series antagonist, Griffith, in particular is a fascinating character. His story shows a man destined to great things, regardless of the actions he performs. He rises to great power as a general, falls, is tortured, and eventually becomes a god-like being and Messiah of his world, the choice to save or destroy humanity placed on his shoulders due to his desire to make himself something greater then the average man, the cruelties inflicted on him by society, and his decision to chase the changing form of his dream. He is a very dark, conflicted character and very well developed. The manga is still ongoing, so Im excited to see what develops of Griffith, how the series protagonist, Guts factors into his fate, and if Guts will be able to stop him, or even if hell want to. The series is deep, but its also very dark, and I dont recommend it for everyone. Reader beware.
