Watching The End Of Europe The Fortaleza sits on a cliff - TopicsExpress

Watching The End Of Europe The Fortaleza sits on a cliff overlooking Guincho Beach where there is nothing in your vision’s way to obstruct the jutting rock of the end of Europe. Photo by Robert Stephen. By Robert K. Stephen (CSW) (ESTORIL, PORTUGAL) – While travelling in Spain and Portugal this summer a favourite if not highly personal topic for all is, “The Crisis”. Life in Portugal and Spain seems inextricably interwoven with “The Crisis” whether its fear about the government cutting pensioner payments or the fate of commercial enterprises commenced before and during “The Crisis”. Can they survive “The Crisis”? This is what “The Crisis” has done to my family. “The Crisis” results in slashed social programmes, sky high VAT taxes, limited or no economic growth and in general a topic that results in animated discussion so instead of a feeling of doom and gloom it sparks almost a passion to further discuss. Like Nero who fiddled as Rome burnt to the ground, why in the context of “The Crisis”, can’t I just eat, drink and be merry watching the end of Europe? That sounds very cruel and indifferent but read on and you’ll see just how compassionate I can be with great wines and foods sent my way while I watch Europe gently slide into the Atlantic Ocean! windsorsquare.ca/2013/08/watching-the-end-europe
